Geraldine Rodriguez is a self-taught photographer specializing in contemporary, non-traditional artistic and expressive portraiture. Born in the Philippines and living in Germany, Nigeria, and the Caribbean provided a rich landscape upon which Geraldine began her artistic career as a painter. Through her art, Geraldine captured personal and familial relationships, inner reflections of self, imagined perceptions of self as viewed by the world, and social issues. As Geraldine’s passion for photography emerged, these socially conscious themes transcended the canvas and became captured on camera.

Now, as a fine art photographer, Geraldine continues to photograph with purpose. Her subjects are average to the normal eye, but each with a distinct story. By capturing her models, on camera, in their most pure and uninhibited state, she allows them to share their story through a medium that is universal to all- visual expression. Through the photography of Geraldine Rodriguez, the model’s true “self” becomes exposed.

In order to maintain the depth of her work, Geraldine uses her art to communicate a message. Geraldine’s innovative process is personal to each model and allows her to connect with them beyond the surface. Using music as a source of inspiration, Geraldine helps her models to redefine a life experience or story, through visual expression, and captures that expression on camera. Geraldine wants her photography to reveal that although we don’t share the same experiences, we are universally connected through human emotion. Her work reflects what many choose not to expose…themselves.

Geraldine brings years of experience as an artist to the world of photography and pushes the envelope on traditional photography. Geraldine hopes that her edgy spin on fine art photography will evoke self-reflection and encourage emotional, mental and spiritual growth among all who bear witness to it.
